Millsap Farm

Community Supported Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture, also known as Subscription Agriculture, is a system whereby consumers who want to be connected to the source of their food pre-purchase a portion of their food from a farm directly.  Typically, a farm has a certain number of "shares" available, for sale during the winter. If you own a share, then each week during the growing season you come to the farm and pick up a week’s worth of vegetables. Here in the Ozarks, the season is of April to October. So starting in April a typical share would consist mostly of tender lettuce, cooking greens, peas, baby turnips and beets, radishes, green onions and more.

In May, we begin to have tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, yellow squash, and carrots. By mid June we are in full swing, with tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, lettuce, cucumbers, zucchini, melons, potatoes, and more!

In the fall, as the frost approaches, we have cabbage, broccoli, leeks, onions, winter squash, cooking greens, potatoes, pumpkins, and beets.

We are in the start-up phase of our CSA this year. We are currently signing up members for the 2010 harvest season. (April-October) Please print and fill out the CSA form and send it in.
